The internet is great for many things and it's impacted all aspects of society, including fashion. In an article titled "Digital Tracking Technologies: A Primer" it exposes the meaning behind the annoying accept cookies pop-up you get every time you're on a website from your laptop to your phone.

Ever wonder how the dress you were thinking about suddenly appears on an sidebar ad while you're studying? or how your desired search option conveniently appears before you finish typing your sentence? cookies. No not the cookie cookie but internet cookies, where the crumbs are smalls pieces of information collected about your searches, clicks and engagement to cater specific ads to you.

I'm often conflicted with the idea of someone knowing that much about me. I know as someone who studies marketing little details about consumers and their behavior impact so much about your market and how you situate your business. Understanding what interests consumers and how to get their attention can greatly influence the success of your business, and if it's fashion, your relationship and position with them.

However I know as a consumer this is a hard one to swallow. This has personally led me to irrationally spend and caused many many distractions from my work.

What do you think?
